Charlotte, NC, October 18, 2025 - The River Hills/Lake Wylie Lions Club participated again for the 12th consecutive year in the Charlotte Vision Walk held on October 18th.
Over 400 walkers participated in the event, according to River Hills/Lake Wylie Lions Club spokesperson, Mike Lannon. He said the River Hills/Lake Wylie Lions Club donation was $10,000 and was recognized as "Community Champion." He said many of the walkers are family and friends of those with vision issues.
Lannon said the event raised over $100,000, locally, for the "Foundation for Fighting Blindness," a scientific organization that studies the causes of blindness and impaired vision. The event is in its 25th year and is done in dozens of communities nationally during October, designated as National Blindness Month.
